Rentrak to Offer Artisan Home Entertainment's Video Products Through Its PPT(R) Revenue-Sharing System
PORTLAND, Ore., Nov 21, 2000 --
Rentrak Corp. (Nasdaq:RENT) and Artisan Home Entertainment Inc. today announced an agreement whereby Rentrak will offer Artisan's home video rental products to Rentrak's revenue-sharing customer base in the United States via its Pay-Per-Transaction (PPT(R)) system. Rentrak also will process and audit data for Artisan for certain video retail chains that receive rental products directly from Artisan on a revenue-sharing basis.
Under the terms of the agreement, Rentrak will immediately begin soliciting orders for Artisan's home video titles from the U.S. home video retail outlets it supplies with videocassettes and digital video discs (DVDs) on a revenue-sharing basis. Rentrak will offer Artisan titles to video retailers on an output basis, where the retailer agrees to take all titles, or a non-output basis, where the retailer selects individual titles. Artisan's first-quarter titles include The Way of the Gun, Cutaway, and Cecil B. DeMented.
